About This Trip

Focus: Inner City Ministry

The diversity of cultures in New York is one way to bring the Gospel to unreached people groups throughout the world. Almost every country in the world has a community or neighborhood in New York. In addition to these communities, there are over 100,000 people who are homeless in this city. The New York City Urban Missions Project partners teams with inner city ministries to bring the hope and life that Jesus gives to the many suffering people here.

Our team will serve alongside the Dream Center leading the Dream Kids in vacation bible school, assisting the forgotten elderly in their homes, distributing food & clothing to homeless men, women, & youth, and engaging in other outreach opportunities in the communities of East Harlem & Chelsea.

Our team members will be the hands and feet of Jesus on this trip as we love the broken and watch lives change through the power of Jesus! We welcome you to ask the Lord if you are supposed to be a part of this life-changing experience.

*Payment deadlines must be met in order to participate in this trip. Life Fellowship Church uses each payment to purchase airfare and other necessary trip expenses shortly following the posted deadlines. Therefore, payments are non-refundable, and failure to meet these deadlines will result in the removal of a team member and/or the cancellation of the trip.

Where will we stay?

Our team will stay at the New York School of Urban Ministry. The accommodations are dorm style (separate male & female dorms) with a cafeteria and lounging areas.

What will we eat?

Most of your meals will be provided by our ministry partners. You will need to have some spending money for a few meals that are not built into the cost of the trip. These meals will be clearly scheduled for the team so everyone can enjoy so local favorites.

What should I bring?

Please bring everything that you will need for showering and daily hygiene. NYSUM will provide towels, washcloths and all of your bedding. You will need a pair of shower shoes, closed-toed shoes and clothing that you wouldn't mind getting dirty or ruined. Many work related tasks include cleaning and serving on the streets of NYC. You will want to bring shorts (please make sure they are modest length), jeans, sweatshirt or jacket (it may get cold at night), t-shirts (girls: please do not bring tank tops). Bring one church outfit. A more detailed pack list can be shared closer to departure date.

What does the trip cost include?

The trip cost is all-inclusive and covers the flight, all meals, ministry supplies, transportation on the ground, and lodging. It does not include passport fees, snacks, souvenirs, or personal spending money.

  • March 20: $350 Due
  • April 15: $350 Due
  • May 4: $350 Due
  • June 1: Full payment amount of $1,500 due in account.
MEETING DATES:

  • Attend all team meetings including team building day
